Pre User Test Persona

This is the final draft of our user persona, of which the initial planning phase came about from whiteboard drawings of ideas following our client interview. This user is a traditional student looking to get into mechanical engineering at UCCS, and her pain points follow things highlighted by our client as existing pain points within the site. This persona informed our using test planning and a portion of our report moving forward.

Usability Test Planning Dashboard

This is the template for the dashboard where our team would write down all the preliminary details of our user testing so that the entire process was documented for ease of use. This current version is a blank document to show what the initial process looked like when creating a plan for the testing.

Client Interview Questions

This document was a list of the different questions we planned on asking to our client during our one on one interview as well as any notes from the responses given. This interview was done online, but all members were present in the same room for the interview. And so we would develop individual questions, and print out the document to reference easily during the interview. This was a non-formal document listing out our initial ideas and observations.

Moderator Testing Script

This document meant as a written script for the moderator of the user test in terms of how to introduce and guide the user non invasively through the test. This script existed in order to guide our team members who had never done user testing before through the process, and provide a step by step outline of how to walk the moderator through each individual task.

User Testing Script

This is the general script for the user test, including each individual task and a brief description for the user prior to beginning it. This is something that would be handed to the test giver at the start, similar to the moderator script, in order to guide them through the entire process.

User Testing Data Document

This is a page sample from the user data gathered from our testing, which was hosted with a survey done on Google Forms. The data was sorted by individual task and test, and then given priority status based on overall findings.

This is an example of one of our priority markings on page four of the document. In this case, our labeling system deemed that any rating of difficulty on a page between 1-2, or very easy to easy would be considered extremely low priority with no change needed. This allowed us to essentially ignore these tasks for last and give other tasks higher priority during data analysis and report writing.

UX Report Executive Summary

This is the executive summary of our UX Report located on page two of the document. This served as an overview of the entire document to the client, as reading 40+ pages of information can get tiring or potentially repetitive after a while. So working for the user here, in this case our client, we chose to include an overall summary of all components of the paper so that the client had the generalized idea of what we found before reading each section into more depth.

UX Report Methodology Section

This is the methodology and red routes section of our report, which you can find on pages 4-6 of this report. This section included a layout of the red route matrix we created in the front half of the research that was extremely important to our methodology and pinpointed where priority points were to the client more directly.

Usability Report Data Section

This is a sample section of the data analysis portion of the usability report which you can find on pages 9-15. It includes a synthesized version of each user test, with number averages and analysis on the findings of each area as well as an overall analysis at the end taking all data into account and moving into our overall summary and suggestions.

UX Report User Journey Map

This is the user journey map included in our user findings section on page 15. This particular graph was a user journey is centered around the user's pursuit of information and engagement with the Mechanical Engineering program at UCCS, from initial awareness to the eventual application process. The map highlights key touchpoints, emotions , and potential areas for improvement to enhance the overall user experience during this specific journey.

UX Report Critical Tasks/Summary

This is the overall summary and critical tasks included at the end of our report from pages 16-17. This section included categorization of the user tasks and their results by priority using a scale of severity. Our scale includes the following categories: no change needed, minor, serious, and critical. This is a final categorizing of all user tasks and data based on our findings which was then reported directly to our client.

UX Report Top Concerns

This section of our report, located on page 17, included the full list of our top concerns for this site, as well as how we concluded this based off the data we collected.

In the following section we went into more detail about concerns revealed through our testing data, issues identified, and their implications for the website's design and functionality.

UX Report Appendix F

This is a set of graphs located in our appendices section which included the data taken from our google forms survey users took at the end of the test. This is referenced in our data analysis section and is included here to serve as a visualization of the actual data we collected rather than just verbal analysis.

UX Report Task Findings

This section of data, located just below appendix F is a more expanded view of our task findings, and how all of our user data for each task added up to produce specific averages such as time, difficulty, and confidence. These tables served as the framework to our overall analysis and how we chose the final priority for each task.
