Holcim SOP Rework Project
Project Type
Technical Editing
Began
November 2nd, 2022
Ended
November 30th, 2022
Role
Grammar Editor & Quality Control
In a Technical Editing and Style course in 2022, I collaborated with a team of four students to edit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Holcim, a global company specializing in building materials. We revised three SOPs covering Ready-Mix (RMX) Concrete, Construction Aggregates, and RMX Machine Driving.
As the grammar, formatting, and quality assurance lead, I focused on ensuring consistency and accuracy throughout the documents. I also focused on ensuring the visual design of these SOP's aligned with present company style. Although this project was my first experience with SOP editing and professional team coordination, it deepened my skills primarily in technical and grammatical editing, formatting standardization practices, and project management.
Due to company confidentiality, full documents cannot be shared, but I have included a slideshow below of screenshots of our edited versions and the style sheet we developed.
